Project and Resource Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Project & Resource Manager to support our Directors in driving business growth, optimising internal processes, and overseeing the successful delivery of projects. This role will be key in embedding systems and practices that maintain Affinus’ reputation for excellence, as well as effectively managing resources and aligning operations with business objectives.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Internal Process Development & Ownership: Design, document, and implement efficient processes that drive project success and operational efficiency. Take full ownership to ensure all team members adhere to these processes.
  • Resource Planning & Allocation: Strategically manage the allocation of resources for projects, ensuring that workloads are balanced and deadlines are met. Collaborate closely with project managers to align resource availability with project needs.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proactively resolve competing demands on resources to prevent delays and ensure all projects are completed within scope, time, and budget.
  • Project Collaboration & System Advocacy: Collaborate with project managers to ensure effective project execution, and act as a superuser of our project management systems, ensuring consistency and high data integrity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve internal processes, fostering greater scalability and efficiency.
  • Team Development: Allocate tasks that align with team members' skills and development goals, providing growth opportunities while safeguarding the well-being and retention of top talent.

Required Experience

  • Strong organisational and process design skills.
  • Proven problem-solving aptitude, especially in a project-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of resource management within complex project environments, including
  • familiarity with different delivery methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.
  • Ability to reconcile conflicting project demands and allocate resources effectively.

Desired Skills

  • Background knowledge of Microsoft BizTalk and Azure applications.
  • Familiarity with the workings of higher education institutions
  • A track record of implementing business improvement strategies.
  • + years of experience in IT project management and a project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile certification).

About Affinus

Affinus recently celebrated a decade of supporting Microsoft customers. We were founded in 2007 by members of the original Microsoft BizTalk development team. As such we retain a close working relationship with Microsoft today.

In 2000, Microsoft released BizTalk Server. Since then, they’ve revised the product 10 times and approximately 10,000 customers worldwide still use it today. Affinus originated as a small consultancy to provide expertise in BizTalk integrations, and today supports medium and enterprise customers worldwide with their BizTalk estates.

In 2008 Microsoft announced Azure, their cloud computing platform, and have since been developing products for cloud-based integration. As a result, we were pioneers in collaborating with the early product development of Azure and today support the developer community with technical training, collaboration and a blog. Part of the Affinus mission is to inform the evolution of best practices for Azure based development and integration.
