We are thrilled to announce that Luciano Barbieri will be joining our growing Affinus team, as a Principal Consultant.
A senior, Microsoft integration specialist and architect, with 25 years of experience, Luciano is well known and well regarded in the Microsoft Integration world for both traditional, Biztalk Server and now with Azure Integration Services too.
Passionate about IT and programming from a young age, Luciano launched his career in integration in 2000, working with the original version of Microsoft BizTalk. He then went on to beta test new versions of BizTalk Server from 2000 to 2009 and has continued working with most versions of the product since. For the past six years Luciano has focused on Azure Integration Services, specialising in cloud integration solutions using Logic Apps, API Management, and Service Bus.
Luciano’s early career as an integration consultant with both EDS and Fujitsu provided him with a broad range of experience across various industry verticals, including education, healthcare, and government. In his more recent career, he has focused on the energy sector in Calgary, Alberta, working for FortisAlberta and InterPipeline, specialising in the Microsoft integration space. He brings technical expertise from development to solution architecture, along with experience in managing both technical development and operational teams.
Swapping ski boots for wellies, Luciano and his family will be moving from Canada to join us here in the UK this October, 2024. Just in time for a comparatively balmy British winter. Whilst he has spent most of his life in Canada, Luciano is no stranger to the UK, with strong family connections in the south east.
In his spare time, Luciano enjoys experimenting with 3D printing and design. As a passionate RC aviation hobbyist, he’s eager to combine these two interests by 3D printing his own custom planes in the near future, so watch this ‘air’ space. When he’s not immersed in his projects, Luciano loves exploring the great Canadian outdoors through walking, hiking and skiing.
